The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the importance of paid sick days in public health efforts to keep the workforce healthy and prevent infection transmission. However, many workers do not have access to paid leave, and many small businesses may struggle with financial challenges in offering competitive benefits. Colorado legislators have put forth Senate Bill 205, to address this gap. In this virtual discussion, policy experts from the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) will provide non-partisan policy analysis, to help small businesses understand what this legislation would mean for their businesses. They will also discuss the national landscape of how state governments are currently approaching paid sick days.
