In 2020, the legislature introduced House Bill 20-1162. While this bill did not pass, there may be interest from legislators and the environmental community in bringing forth similar legislation in 2021. The purpose of this virtual discussion is getting member feedback on whether a state legislative ban on polystyrene takeout containers is acceptable due to cost, supply chain issues, increased demand for takeout, industry stressors, a feasible timeline for implementation, etc.
